As-Salaam Alaikum. (Peace Be Unto You)

To the people of South Africa and to all those who mourn the loss of our brother, Archbishop Desmond Tutu. He was an extraordinary man with great spiritual character rooted in the love of Jesus the Christ and his fellow man.

Through the darkness of the many hours of his life under the tyranny of apartheid and the wanton slaughter of Black people desirous of being free, he journeyed through the time of the rise of Nelson Mandela and the African National Congress (ANC), and from the beauty of his heart he desired to see racial harmony exist in South Africa.

So, in fostering the Truth and Reconciliation process, people Black and White and Indian spoke the truth of their deeds and why, and repented of the evil that all sides have done making it possible for Brother Nelson Mandela to come out of prison and become the first Black president of South Africa.

Although many milestones in the march toward freedom and justice have been reached, the one that Archbishop Tutu wanted most was the same that Dr. Martin Luther King wanted most, to see a genuine brotherhood of the races in a beloved community. Every day that we live we are witnessing new and older efforts to destroy the good that good men like Archbishop Tutu tried to establish.

South Africa will eventually enjoy the fruit of freedom, justice, and equality. South Africa will enjoy the fruit of seeing the control of the great endless resources of Africa return to the hands of those who await their inheritance. The riches of South Africa properly used can produce a good life for all the people of South Africa and be an example for all of Africa.

Racism and white supremacy will not easily die but only when these evil forces are dead can what Archbishop Tutu and so many others as ancestors rejoice at seeing what South Africa may yet become.

May Allah’s (God’s) Peace be with the family of Archbishop Tutu and all of those who struggle to be able to eat the fruit of a just society. The Nation of Islam In the West and all decent people who struggle seeking a better life mourn the loss of this great soldier for Christ and the Oneness of the human family.

Sincerely,

I Am Your Brother and Servant,

The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan
