We give Him praise and thanks for His raising up among us a divine leader, teacher and guide, His messenger, messiah, the Honorable Elijah Muhammad. I greet all of you, my dear Brothers and Sisters, with the greeting words of peace, As-Salaam Alaikum.

I want to thank those who came before me, who spoke; thank all of you for coming out. Thank all of my ministers for coming from different parts of the country and I’m very, very happy and honored to see you all. I’m going to get right to the business. Saviours’ Day I started a subject that is going to take me a couple of months to unpack it so that you will have all that I intended, or that Allah (God) intended for you through me, that started with Saviours’ Day “One Nation Under God.” The scripture for today is taken from the Bible, St. John, 3:16. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

I wanted us today to become more deeply involved with words, because all words have varied shades of meaning. The enemy has tricked us with words and God will save us with words. This is why the ear is so important because it is the organ by which you hear the word. And if your ear is open, then your heart is open to receive a word that will benefit you and resurrect you to life.

God so loved the world

God so loved the world. Now, when you have the definite article “the,” it’s telling you that the noun that follows that definite article is an example of the thing that we’re talking about.

We used to call the Caucasian, “The Man.” And when you say, “The Man,” you’re saying that he is the example of success, and wealth, and prosperity, and power that all other men should strive to be like—terrible blunder in misunderstanding—but there is an Original Man.

So, when God says, “He so loved the world,” then the question you have to ask and I have to ask is: What world is it that God is in love with? Is He in love with this world?, because there is a difference between “this” world” and “the” world.

God can’t love this world that He prophesied through the mouth of his prophets the destruction of. If He loved it, He would not destroy it. Our problem is that we’re in love with this world, instead of having a clear understanding of the world that God is talking about.

Now, the world that God so loved that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever would believe in him, would not perish with the destruction of this world because their heart, their mind, their soul would be wrapped up in the world that Jesus would bring in.

When you say, “The God,” there are gods many; there are Lords many. But when you say, “The God,” you’re talking about that Being that originated the heavens and the earth and all things therein.

We could be a god, but we can never be The God. That’s why David, the Psalmist said, “Ye are all gods, children of The Most High God.” So if God so loved the world, and the Apostle James, in the 4th chapter, 4th verse said, “Ye adulterers and adulteresses”—that’s a heavy thing he’s calling people. Jesus talked about a generation that was a generation of adulterers that was seeking after a sign.

Now, adultery to us means nothing, because the marriage vow to us means nothing. When we say “keeping our self only to her or to him ‘til death us do part,” we don’t understand that when we break the word, death has come; the death of that marriage. So James said, “Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of this world is enmity with God. Whosever, therefore, would be a friend of this world is the enemy of God.”

A world in rebellion to God

Now, the question that we have to ask ourselves: Are we the friend of this world? Then if we are, we are enemies of God because God does not love this world. He loves the world that His only begotten son is going to bring in. This world is the world that Satan is the master of. I’ll prove that. In fact, you prove it just by looking in the mirror.

Today, I want us all to look at ourselves, because correction doesn’t start with your neighbor. Correction starts with you. Now, the one that brings in the world is a human being, and the one that brought in this world is also a human being. So the scripture says, “As by one man, sin entered into the world and death came also by sin. So death has passed to all men, for that all have sinned.”

So we’re dealing with two human beings that have spirit and have disciples. Whose disciple are you? You can’t use Jesus’ name. I’m going to put Jesus off to the side because we know he’s holy and righteous. We can’t claim Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) because we know he was a righteous, noble servant of God. Let’s put them to the side and let’s stop hiding behind righteous men with our foolishness. We’re going to look at self today.

The one man that brought sin into the world is called in the Genesis, “The Serpent,” that caused Adam to sin and fall. So when Adam fell, all human beings are the children of Adam, so death has passed to all of us because our original father broke down. Once we disobeyed God, as the Bible said, you are born in sin and shaped in iniquity. The sin that you are born in is a world that has rebelled against God; and that rebellion has shaped you into a little rebellious devil. I’m not dealing with your color. I’m dealing with the way you think, and the way you act, and our actions show that we are not disciples of Jesus Christ. We are disciples of Satan using Jesus as a masquerade to hide our dirty practices under his holy and righteous name.

The two phases of Jesus’ work

So the Bible says, “As by one man death came, so shall by one man all men shall be made alive,” and that man is Jesus, the Christ. In the Islamic language, it is The Mahdi; and what I’m trying to show the world is Jesus, the Christ, and The Mahdi that the Muslims are looking for, is one and the same person under two different names that suggest the Same Power.

Listen, just listen, because this is a study session. Jesus did not want the people to know who he was. He didn’t tell the people, you know who I am. If he had been a show off, even though he came directly from God, he would not have had to ask his disciples: Who do they say I am? He didn’t even tell his disciples who he was; and they said, well, they say you’re the Prophet Isaiah, this one that was to come. Then he looked at Peter and he said, “Who do you say I am?” And Peter said, “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the Living God.” That’s the first time in scripture Jesus is actually called the Son of God.

So then Jesus kind of said, “Well, flesh and blood didn’t reveal this to you.” It was revealed to Peter according to the spirit, but he said, “Go and tell no man. Don’t let them know who I am because I have not ascended to the throne to receive the power that would make me the Christ.” The first phase of my work is Jesus, the teacher; but the second phase of my work is Jesus, the Christ, who comes with power to destroy this world, the world of Satan.”

God so loved. Now, you’ve got this tricky word, “love.” You know we use that, I love you, baby. You need to ask him, what do you mean by that because in that sentence is a verb and a verb is an action word. So when you tell somebody you love them, then the next thing is, I can measure your love by your actions toward me. Sometimes we have expectations that are not met so it blinds us to action because our expectations are what we think is love.

This is not an emotional feeling that God had but it is the very nature of His being and the Power of His being that is used to back this one. God so loved the world that He had in His mind that He gave His only begotten son. Well, He didn’t just give him; He backed him. That His begotten son would bring in a world that pleases God. So what it means is, all those who believe in this son. Now, belief counts for nothing except that it is carried into practice. So don’t tell me you believe in Jesus and won’t practice. I believe in playing the piano but won’t practice. Well, we don’t come to your concert. I believe in Jesus Christ, but I’m not practicing anything that the Master taught.

See, it’s not by your words they shall know you, it’s by your faith translated into action and work that will cause them to know who you are. Now, look, this is a very important part. All those who believe in this son, and act to bring in the world that God loves, God will back them. God will make them successful. God will guide them. God will protect them, but God will try them to see if they’re the right mental and spiritual material out of which He can bring in the world that He loves.

So it says that those who believe, they will not perish, because the world that they bring in is infinite; it’s eternal, so in that world, they have what is called everlasting life.

The Duty of God’s Messenger

Now, what is this “begotten son” business? See this book, the Holy Qur’an, is a gift to humanity that comes after the Torah and the Injil. This book clears up the misunderstanding of those who wrote a book with their hands and put it on Jesus. If you really had the full message of Jesus Christ, you would have power to run Satan out of your life. The Holy Qur’an says no—God does not have a begotten son in the sense that God slipped around in Palestine and made Mary pregnant. Well, God can do anything He wants. Yes, He can, but He doesn’t violate His own law.

So let’s trace this Son of Man down, so we can get acquainted with him, because he’s the representative—the manifestation of God. He comes in the Book of Genesis.

I got a letter from one of my friends. He was reminding me of the question that the man on Nightline, Martin Bashir, asked me when he started giving statistics of the Black condition and he [Mr. Bashir] said, “Well, doesn’t this show that your preaching and the preaching of others has been effective?” That’s a good point.

I could easily have answered the Mission of the Messenger or the Prophet is not to make people better, but to give them the tool by which they can make themselves better. The Holy Qur’an says the duty of the Messenger is not to open the message, read it to you and then tell you all to do and then make you do it. The Messenger is just to give you a clear delivery of the message. So whether you hear or forebear, that’s on you. Whether you do or don’t do, that’s on you. Poor, Noah. He preached for 150 years. That’s a long time for any man to preach; and in the final analysis, when he looked up and saw a cloud forming, the only humans he could put in the Arc were his three sons and his wife—after 150 years of preaching.

Now, you could have said, God failed. No, the scripture says the hearts of the people was so bent on evil that they could not hear the preaching of righteousness. So, when the water started falling that’s when they said, ‘Uh-oh, that dude was telling us the truth, and that boat is kind of small. We should have got in when we were called. And we missed the final call, and now, glup, glup, glup, glup—we’re drowning.’ Then the scripture says, “As it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be at the coming of the Son of Man.”

To be continued.
