The following is the text of a letter of congratulations to Commandante Fidel Castro from the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan as published in the Final Call Newspaper, Vol 26 No. 2.  Cuba recently hosted the Non-Aligned Movement 14th Summit Conference including over 50 Heads of State and Foreign Ministers.

September 15, 2006

My Dear Commandante Fidel Castro,

Commandante Fidel Castro

Congratulations on hosting in Cuba, the Heads of State and Foreign Ministers, of many of the developing nations of the world, and receiving over 50 Heads of State and Government. This is indeed a great and deserving honor to you and the Cuban people.

Again, thank you for allowing The Final Call, the official newspaper of the Nation of Islam to observe and record some of this historic conference. I am deeply humbled by the honor of your invitation to me to observe such a historic conference, and I am deeply sorry that my health condition did not allow me to attend. The Final Call newspaper is representing the Black, the Brown and the Native Americans who are indeed a developing nation within the nation of the United States.

There is no better place on earth for such a meeting to take place than in Cuba, a nation that has survived embargoes, sanctions, blockades and many evil attempts of the American Intelligence Services to destabilize the government of Cuba and terrorize the Cuban people. There is no better place on earth for such a historic meeting to take place than in Cuba, hosted by a Leader who has weathered the storm of over 600 assassination attempts, perpetrated by the most technologically prepared wicked scientists of death.

Minister Louis Farrakhan

To all of us who say that we believe in Allah (God), I would ask the question, “Who has preserved and protected the life of Commandante Fidel Castro in 47 years of his service to the Cuban people and the International community?” I believe that the same God of Christianity, Judaism and Islam; the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob; the God of Jesus and Muhammad is Commandante Fidel Castro’s Preserver and Protector.

What was Allah’s (God’s) purpose in preserving the life of Commandante Fidel Castro? His life is a lesson to be studied for all who desire to serve the huddled and humbled masses of humanity that yearn to breathe free. This precious Island of Cuba is an inspiration to all Leaders and nations who want to move forward in serving the masses of the people in spite of tremendous opposition.

May Allah (God) bless all of the Leaders to go forth from this great conference inspired to serve the needs of their people, never bowing to the opposition that would encourage outside forces to take control of the riches of that nation that rightly belong to the people.

May you leave this conference knowing that, in serving the interests, rights and needs of the masses of the people, history will indeed record you, not only as Great Leaders, but you will be recorded as true servants of the One True God. May Allah (God) increase these leaders with knowledge, wisdom, understanding and power to resist the urge to live for selfish material gain at the expense of building a great nation in service of the people.

Best wishes to Commandante Fidel Castro, long life for him, long life for the idea that undergirds the Cuban Revolution, and may that idea evolve into the Kingdom of Allah (God) on earth where all of the citizens of the Earth—no matter their race, creed, color or ethnic origin—can live in peace, harmony, freedom, justice and equality.

We long to see a government that destroys all borders and acknowledges every human being on the earth as a citizen of the Earth, entitled to a share of all of the wealth that is beneath our feet. There is a scripture in the Bible that reads, “The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof.” With such a government, no child on earth would ever be hungry, no person on earth would ever be homeless and never denied education and cultivation, and no human being would ever live in poverty; and that government of service would recognize that each human being has a right to the wealth in the earth, that not one of us can claim ownership of, but we all can be good stewards of the earth and its resources.

Best wishes to you, Commandante, and to all in attendance for success.

The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan
